Introducing Debra Tufford! God's World Photography
Thursday, November 19th, 2009For most photographers, taking a beautiful image is the accomplishment of their art. Debra sees things a little differently and it surely makes her work unique. Her art is also an inspirational message. She finds a beautiful spot in nature, takes her shot and then she finds the perfect quotation to hand calligraphy on the matte. Saying that makes it sound easy and anyone who has ever tried to snap a photo knows there is much more to photography than that. To combine the photography with the perfect inspirational quote and then to hand calligraphy that message on the matte makes her work unique and very special.
Her photo with it’s inspirational matte is framed in a georgeous custom made hardwood frame, courtesyof her husband. These frames are beautifully put together. Got to love a man with skills!

Studio/Retail Space for Local Artists/Craft Artists
Wednesday, March 18th, 2009Adornments is looking to expand into The Loft at the Factory at Franklin

The Loft
a lofted space off of the common area in the main building.

View from The Loft
This space can be seen from the ground floor from many restaurants and shops and is directly across from the Southgate Gallery. Our goal is to provide artists and craft artists with studio and retail space; providing the community with the opportunity to see artists at work and purchase artisan goods as well as a place for artists to work and sell their creations. We do want any artists who take a space there to actually be there regularly (not necessarily every day, but several days a week). In exchange for rent (price is based on the size of the studio space (5×5-10×10) that is desired ranging from $320 to $400 per month or more), we will provide the artists with the following:
1. Studio Space (artists will have access to their studio space 24 hours a day)
2. Advertisement in various publications (Tennessean, VIP Magazine, etc)
3. Advertisement on our website (Adornments-Online.net)
4. Retail opportunity- use of our credit card machine at no cost to the artist. (i.e. we will not take a commission for works that are sold by the artist whether the artist is present at the time of sale or not) The Loft will be open for business during regular store hours (most likely: Tuesday – Thursday 10am-5pm and Friday/Saturday 10am-6pm) and an Adornments staff member will be present to process any credit sales during those times (again at no cost to the artist).
In order to make this venture possible, we need at least four artists to commit to taking studio space there within the next month. If you are interested, please e-mail AdornmentsOnline@gmail.com with The Loft in the subject heading. Tell us your medium, how much space you think you need, when you would want to move in and start working, and please include a couple pictures of your work if you can. We do want there to be a variety of different styles and media so our selections will be based on ability of the artist to create on site, quality of work and diversity of the space (i.e. we won’t pick all painters or all weavers).
We look forward to hearing from you!

Abdul and Alexis' Wedding Feature on Ashley's Bride Guide
As many of you know, we got started down the path of wedding work when we discovered the addictive power of planning my (Alexis) wedding late last year. Well, for those of you wondering just how that first trial went, our wedding is currently being featured on two wedding blogs!! Ashley of Ashley’s Bride Guide as well as Amy from Williamson County Weddings and CJs off the Square both wrote articles on our wedding this week (I know- how loved are we?!)! So, once again thanks to everyone who chipped in to make our wedding so great! I’m sure that Laura’s upcoming wedding will be even more of a triumph! So check out our features at Wilcowed Blogspot and Ashley’s Daily Scoop! And a big thanks to Ashley for putting us up on her blog! Yay!
